Cincinnati and the Hard Rock Casino (August 25, 2022)

Nice exploring Cincinnati, Ohio while visiting the Hard Rock Casino there. A lot of interesting historic items, as well as some really good food actually. Many casinos the food is so-so, but here it is really good.

Wandered around town for a while, always fun to explore Cincinnati by foot as there is much to see. Many old building and even a monument to a former (and Ohio born) President (of which there has been a few).

As to the items in the museum, these are just a few. Clothes, cars and of course guitars. Lots of interesting history. In the upcoming weeks, will be exploring a lot of rock and roll history due to a trip planned in the near future.

As always, thank you for visiting my page and hope you return in the near future!

Miami County Fair (August 16, 2022)

Yes, that is a real Rabbit! In fact according to the owner holding it...16 pounds of Bunny! Wife and I went to the Miami County Fair which is held in Troy, Ohio. Enjoy going to this fair, and we have been a number of times since I have been living in Ohio. Fun seeing the animals, the farm equipment, seeing the rides (did not ride any, they opened later) and enjoying the fantastic (if not so healthy but what the hell) food to be found there. It is a favorite place to visit this time of year, and a wonderful event. One of the best walks I have taken this year!

Dayton Air Show (July 30, 2022)

Great time with my wife and around 40,000 friends at the Dayton Air Show, at the Dayton International Airport. Great time and some remarkable aircraft including some amazing flying by The Blue Angels. Heat was not bad, humidity was very low and we had a great time watching the planes in the air, and checking out the many ground displays to be seen.

Been to a lot of air shows in my day, always have been a huge fan of aviation, and this was a fantastic experience.

Maine! (July 10-17, 2022)

First ever trip to the State of Maine, with a few stops along the way. Due to the problems the airlines are having decided to drive, and a beautiful if long (981 miles, one way) it was. I had never been there though my wife was stationed there during her Navy service. Enjoyed seeing the amazing sights, got my first ever Lobster Roll (twice in fact) and also enjoyed the history to be found there. It is a remarkable and beautiful place and after visiting I can see going back in the future. On the way home, we made a stop at a favorite place. Niagara Falls is always worth a stop.

Carrilon Historial Park (June 28, 2022)

My wife and I went to a favorite place, Carillon Historical Park in Dayton. Weather was cool and humidity was down, and a good place to get out too. It is a favorite of ours when the Christmas lights are out in December. The Wright Flyer III is the most complete Wright aircraft, was perfected near here at nearby Huffman Prarie. Lots of interesting and amazing sights to see, full of Dayton history and a great walk on a beautiful late June day.

Visit to Indian Lake (June 27, 2022)

Made a trip with my wife up the road to Indian Lake, Ohio. Had read they had a bad algae problem, and indeed they do. Still fun to see the big lake.

My wife and I split one of the huge hamburgers at the Tilton Hilton. That is a favorite restaurant of ours at Indian Lake and as always it was fantastic. After that headed back but made a couple of stops in New Carlisle, Ohio. One stop for ice cream, and one to explore a local car show there at a local bank. Was a fantastic day trip and a wonderful time.

Dayton Day (June 18, 2022)

Spent a few hours in Dayton on a very fine Saturday. Had an appointment with my wife, and then afterwards we made a stop at Warped Wing Brewing for some refreshment. Always enjoy that place and have a fine time there.

Went by Deeds Park to see the fountains, but due to the breeze which was blowing quite strong they did not run the fountains. They are really something to see and will add them to a future post.

Looking forward to a return visit on two wheels or four. It is a fun city with a lot of things to see and do.

West Virginia and Maryland (November 12-15, 2024)

Sights during our travels in West Virginia, Maryland, and even a stop (at John and Annie Glenn's house in Ohio) over a four day trip to ...
